Just a few blocks from my hotel, floating in a sea of mediocre chain restaurants like an abandoned pirate treasure chest (haha bad similes), I found my new favorite restaurant in Indianapolis! Puccini’s Smiling Teeth, serving up one hell of a calzone to me tonight. Puccini’s is technically a chain, with locations across the Indy metro area, but it’s nothing like Applebee’s (thankfully).
Friendly staff, a super casual atmosphere, an extensive menu comprising lots of Italian favorites, including pizza, calzones, salads, and pasta all combine to make this a great place to get a quick bite to eat. Also cheap–my meal was only $6.95!! I ordered a calzone with artichokes, mushrooms, ricotta, and tomatoes (my apologies for the awful picture). Somehow they got the dough to do exactly what I always fail at–it was crunchy but soft…super delicious. Yum!
